I have been trying to clarify mechanism of a new functional protein by utilizing the advanced techniques of molecular biology, biochemistry, and structural biology (NMR and X-ray). My current research targets are the antifreeze proteins exhibiting thermal hysteresis activity, which have originally been explored from Japanese organisms in the last twenty years. The present homepage introduces our research results regarding the structure, function, and application of AFP. |
